The following message comes directly from the MCPSS Superintendent:
Parents, MCPSS has been monitoring the weather all weekend and has been in discussion with Mobile County emergency officials regarding the forecast for Monday. Based on the most recent updates, we will have school on Monday, January 26, on our normal schedule. Students are expected to wear their uniforms, but to stay warm, they will have the option of layering either under or over their uniforms. We will continue to monitor the weather and the roads. We look forward to seeing each of our students tomorrow.

Holiday Reading Together 🎄📚
As we approach the Christmas holidays, we encourage families to take time to slow down, connect, and bond with their children through reading. The holiday break is a wonderful opportunity to build lasting memories while also strengthening your child’s literacy skills.
Reading together can be simple and fun, this could include snuggling up with a favorite book, taking turns reading aloud, talking about characters, or even listening to stories together. These moments support comprehension, vocabulary, and a love of reading that lasts far beyond the break.
The Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI) has shared many fun and engaging at-home reading opportunities that families can enjoy together. Click the link below to explore ideas, activities, and resources to make reading part of your holiday traditions:

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students grow as readers. We wish you a joyful, restful holiday season filled with stories, laughter, and learning!

We were honored to partner with St. Dominic Catholic School yesterday! Several of our students had the wonderful opportunity to share a MOWA Choctaw dance demonstration for the school’s expo. They truly enjoyed performing, connecting, and celebrating culture with the St. Dominic community.
A special thank you to Mrs. Williams for organizing this experience, and to everyone who helped make the event possible. We appreciate you all!

Ms. Orso’s class has been busy learning all about nouns and verbs!
To help tell the difference between the two, our students created their very own Noun Town. Filled with people, places, and things they chose themselves. Great job, boys and girls
